Get in touch with us
Chasing that glowing, youthful skin? Which is better LED Light Therapy: Professional vs. At-Home Devices? LED Light Therapy is all the rage right now, promising benefits from zapping acne and calming inflammation to boosting collagen and evening out your skin tone. Once a luxury reserved for high-end clinics, LED Light Therapy is now something you can now even DIY at home. Let’s dive into the differences between professional treatments and at-home options, so you can figure out which one vibes with your skincare goals.
Professional LED Light Therapy
Professional LED Light Therapy offers several advantages over at-home devices, making it a better option for achieving more effective and quicker results. Here are a few key reasons why professional LED Light Therapy is superior.
Expertise on Tap: When you book an LED Light Therapy session with a pro like Results Laser Clinic, you’re in good hands. As experts in skin we can customise treatments to your unique skin needs and guide you every step of the way.
Top-Notch Tech: Professional equipment is next level. We use the revolutionary Lutronic Healite Il which packs a punch with a broader range of wavelengths and higher intensity, giving you more targeted and effective treatments.
Controlled Environment: Our clinics offer a consistent and safe setting for your treatments. Plus, you might get the bonus of combining Yellow LED therapy with other skincare procedures like Skin Needling, Chemical Peels or Microdermabrasion for even better results.
Light Therapy Can be used for Acne: Our Blue Light Therapy treatment is designed to target acne-causing bacteria that reduces active acne, skin inflammation and eliminates future breakouts.
Higher Power and Intensity: Equipment used in our clinics or by Therapists are typically much more powerful than at-home versions. The higher intensity ensures that the light penetrates deeper into the skin, stimulating better results in a shorter time.
Faster Results: Due to the higher intensity and personalised treatments, professional LED Light Therapy usually yields faster and more noticeable improvements. Most people see results in fewer sessions compared to at-home devices.
The Downsides of At-Home LED Light Therapy
At-home LED Light Therapy is not all sunshine and rainbows. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you jump on the DIY skincare bandwagon.
Weaker Intensity: Home devices just don’t pack the same punch as the pro stuff, which means they might not be as effective, especially for serious skin issues.
Small Coverage Area: They often cover less skin at a time, so treating larger areas can be a time-suck and might lead to patchy results.
Risk of Misuse: Without a technician to guide you, there’s a chance you might overdo it or use it wrong, which could irritate or damage your skin.
Eye Protection: Not all devices come with proper eye protection, and without it, you could accidentally hurt your eyes.
Varied Effectiveness: The results can be hit-or-miss compared to professional treatments. It depends a lot on the device quality, how you use it, and if you stick to the schedule.
Upfront Cost: High-quality at-home devices can be pretty expensive.
One-Size-Does not Fits-All: Home devices don’t offer the personalised tweaks you’d get from a treatment at your nearest clinic! Our team of Skincare Professionals can adjust treatments to perfectly fit your needs.
If you’re looking for faster, more consistent results or have serious skin concerns, professional LELED Light Therapy might be worth the investment.
Take the first step in your LED Light Therapy “skin-ship” by booking a complimentary consultation at your nearest Results Laser Clinic, where our expert team will conduct a comprehensive skin assessment to see if this treatment is right for you!

Here’s a deep dive into Chemical Peel Benefits and how Chemical Peels might be the perfect addition to your skincare regimen. If you’ve ever considered enhancing your skincare routine, you’ve likely come across Chemical Peels. These treatments, beloved by our clients and team of clinical therapists and cosmetic nurses, offer a range of benefits that can transform your skin.
-
Exfoliates for a Fresh Complexion
Chemical Peels are a powerful exfoliating treatment. By removing dead skin cells, they reveal a brighter, fresher layer of skin underneath. This exfoliation process smooths out the skin’s surface, improving texture and overall appearance.
-
Stimulates Collagen for Smoother Skin
One of the standout Chemical Peel Benefits is their ability to stimulate collagen production. Collagen is essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. By promoting collagen, peels help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving your skin looking youthful and smooth.
-
Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Chemical Peels are effective in diminishing the signs of ageing. They remove damaged outer layers and promote new skin growth, softening fine lines and wrinkles. This makes them a popular choice for those seeking a non-invasive anti-aging treatment.
Peel Recommendation: Rejuvenation Age Peel
-
Treats Acne and Acne Scars
If you struggle with acne or have lingering acne scars, Chemical Peels can be a game-changer. They help clear out clogged pores, reduce inflammation, and encourage cell turnover. Over time, this can significantly reduce the visibility of acne scars.
Peel Recommendation: Acne Peel
-
Evens Skin Tone and Fades Pigmentation
Chemical Peels are excellent for lightening dark spots, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation. By targeting discoloration, they promote a more even skin tone, giving your complexion a uniform, clear appearance.
Peel Recommendation: Pigmentation White Peel
-
Enhances Product Absorption
By removing the barrier of dead skin cells, Chemical Peels improve the absorption and effectiveness of skincare products. This means that active ingredients in your serums and moisturisers can penetrate deeper and work more effectively, enhancing your overall skincare routine.
-
Quick with Minimal Downtime
One of the most appealing aspects of Chemical Peels is their convenience. Many superficial peels offer noticeable results with minimal downtime, allowing you to resume your daily activities shortly after treatment.
-
Customisable for Different Concerns
Chemical Peels come in various types allowing our Therapist to customise treatments based on your specific skin type and concerns. Whether you need mild exfoliation or more intensive resurfacing, there’s a peel that’s right for you.

KNOW YOUR PEEL – A GUIDE TO CHEMICAL SKIN PEELS

Chemical peels are a medical grade weapon in the battle for perfect skin but how do they work & which one is right for you?
Chemical Skin Peels can target dull complexion, uneven skin tone, skin ageing, pigmentation marks & blemishes, they can even tackle acne head-on, revealing luminous & radiant skin. Let’s go a little deeper into the world of chemical peels to discover what each peel does, to aid that choice of which peel is right for you! What is a chemical skin peel?
A chemical peel is the application of a safe chemical solution, which penetrates through the top layer of skin, performing 3 main actions:- Deeply exfoliates, removing dead and damaged skin cells
- Targets specific areas; e.g. treating toxins, oil, bacteria & imperfections below the skins surface
- Stimulates collagen production
What happens on the surface?
Similar to a snake shedding its skin, after a chemical peel we often loose our top layer of dead skin, revealing the new skin underneath, resulting in a smoother complexion. When peels are in action it’s easy to achieve these immediate and visible results- Smoothes skin
- Reduces fine lines & wrinkles
- Reduces congestion & pore size
- Brightens dull/lifeless skin
- Evens skin tone
- Reduces pigmentation & blemishes
So, what happens beneath the surface?
Depending on the peel recommended to you by our clinical therapists, your cells will go through some changes that will help treat your skin priorities from inside & out.Skin Needling: Pen vs. Roller, which is best?
Get in touch with us
Which is better when it comes to Skin Needling: Pen vs. Roller? Discover the differences, benefits, and which option is best for your skin.
What is skin needling?
Skin Needling is rising in popularity for those in pursuit of the perfect skin. This skin resurfacing treatment is effective on uneven skin, scarring & age lines alike. The needling part refers to the tiny surgical needles, which are used to lightly puncture the skin, breaking down bumps, scar tissue & age lines. This process stimulates the body’s natural healing processes including the natural production of new collagen. The result is a new, smoother skin surface.
Skin Needling: Pen vs. Roller. But what holds the needles you ask?
There are two technologies: The DERMAL ROLLER is a mechanical device with surgical Micro Needles protruding from a wheel. This is rolled up and down the affected area. The upside is the simplicity, the downside is that it can create ‘tearing’ wounds, as the roller moves forward, leading the needle to exit the skin at an angle, which can be quite painful.
The NEEDLING PEN contains surgical micro needles, on a motorised head. Rather rather than using a rolling action, the Dermapen moves the needles in and out at a rate of about 1000 times per second, delivering tiny vertical punctures, creating less trauma to the epidermis. The head can be adjusted to vary the depth to which the needles penetrate the skin.

Its official – Skin blemishes are a confidence crusher**
Stretchmarks can be a contributing factor in post-natal depression, at the very least many plan their wardrobe around covering them up.
Stretchmarks can happen to anyone
Stretchmarks can arrive with pregnancy, weight-gain, growth spurts, illness or steroid use. They can be accompanied by a feeling that appearance has been compromised and blown out of proportion by ‘cognitive distortion’ which is when the brain over-rides judgment, common sense making it appear worse than it really is!
A problem shared
There are powerful and inspiring #bodypositivemovements, which are helping to reduce the feeling of social isolation for those traumatised by the change in their bodies but there are some who will always find action more empowering than acceptance. That’s where Fractional RF Laser comes in.
Does it work?
Fractional RF Laser has been around since 2004 & is most effective for treatment of stretchmarks. It has been shown to have 50-75% improvement in appearance of stretch marks, after 6-10 treatments***.Actual results which have been achieved are shared below.
What is Fractional RF Laser?
A grid of micro-needles, penetrate the skin & heat the targeted area with radio frequency (RF) energy. This creates micro-wounds that stimulate the body’s natural healing process, encourage collagen production & regenerate healthy skin tissue. Treatment leaves behind a signature grid pattern of tiny marks which will heal over the next 7-10 days, and fade in around 2 weeks. Fractional RF Laser is often followed by a session of advanced LED light therapy to assist with healing & stimulating collagen production.
How much does it cost?
Treatment costs around $400 for an area approximately the size of an iphone.
Does it hurt?
It’s tolerable but the pain factor is worth it for the results!
Fractional RF Laser and many others treatments are performed by the highly trained therapists at Results Laser Clinic – Australia’s most trusted provider of laser, skin and Cosmetic Injectable treatments.
