Aftercare
You will experience intense redness & swelling
This will gradually reduce over the next 24 hours.
A mild sunburn-like reaction is normal
Swelling & redness may occur & last up to 72 hours, in some cases, prolonged redness & blistering may be experienced.
- Apply a cold compress or icepacks for 10 minutes per hour to reduce heat in the skin.
- Apply a cooling gel to keep your skin cool, ask about RESULTS ACTIVE RECOVERY.
- Use only mineral based makeup for 48hrs after treatment. Ask about our VELVET CO. mineral makeup.
Until all redness has resolved, avoid:
- Using AHA, BHA or Vitamin A products.
- Waxing the area.
- Swimming pools & spas with chemicals/chlorine.
- Activities that cause excessive perspiration.
The area will scab or crust with the appearance of tiny black dots & peel off over the next 2-4 days.
It usually heals in 7-10 days & will continue to fade over the next 2-4 weeks.
- Do not pick, scratch or remove scabs, this can lead to infection & permanent scarring
- You can aid healing with medicated, anti-bacterial ointment
- Avoid direct sunlight on the area. Apply SPF 50+ daily, ask about RESULTS PROTECT SPF 50+
If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, infection or any other issue with the treated skin, contact your clinic. In some cases, we may advise you to contact your GP.
FAQ’s
Why do I get stretch marks and what are they?
Stretch marks occur when the middle layer of your skin is stretched to a point where the skin’s natural elasticity begins to break down. This causes a slight form of micro bleeding as well as some inflammation of the tissue which gives us the appearance of stretch marks. Over time the marks will change in colour from red or pink to a silvery white colour. More often than not, some of the common reasons we get stretch marks are weight fluctuation, hormonal changes, surgery and pregnancy however there could be several other factors which also contribute.
Am I suitable for this treatment?
The majority of people are suitable for Stretch Mark Reduction. We do recommend booking in a complimentary consultation to discuss your skin and ensure this treatment is right for you. This treatment cannot be performed on pregnant woman.
What areas of the body can be treated?
Areas that are best for treatment include the stomach, thighs, upper arms, chest area. Any any areas where stretch marks develop the treatment can be performed.
Does it hurt?

What are the tiny black dots appearing over my stretch Marks?
Commonly referred to a pepper scabs, these appear on the skin where the micro-needle has penetrated the skin. They usually heal within 7-10 days but it’s important to not pick, scratch or remove the scabs as they are healing the skin from within.
What side effects are normal?
Your skin may appear slightly scratched and swollen within first 24 hours; pin prick bruising may also occur but will gradually subside over the 24-48 hours. It’s very normal for black dots to appear on the skin, this is a sign the treatment is working towards healing and minimising the stretch marks. Avoid using any exfoliating scrubs or lotions before and after treatment for at least 3 days. Also avoid exposing your new skin to sunlight and tanning beds.
