About IPL Photo Rejuvenation
Photo Rejuvenation is an innovative treatment using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to prevent signs of ageing and improve the appearance of skin discolouration. It targets a range of priorities including sun damaged skin, broken capillaries, redness, rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles.
IPL technology emits multiple wavelengths of light into the skin, which is absorbed by damaged pigments in the blood vessels – encouraging natural collagen production within damaged, discoloured or marked skin. This helps to fill in fine lines, reduce redness, skin discolouration, and age spots. The priority areas that are targeted with the IPL are intentionally “damaged†and naturally removed by the body.

How It Works

Aftercare
This will gradually reduce over the next 24 hours.
- Swelling, bruising & redness may occur & last up to 72 hours, in some cases prolonged redness & blistering may be experienced.
- Apply a cold compress or icepacks for 10 mins per hour to reduce heat in the skin.
- Apply a cooling gel, ask about RESULTS ACTIVE RECOVERY.
- Use only mineral based makeup for 48hrs after treatment. Ask about our VELVET CO. mineral makeup.
Until all redness has gone, avoid:
- Using AHA, BHA or Vitamin A products.
- Waxing the area.
- Swimming pools & spas with chemicals/chlorine.
- Activities that cause excessive perspiration.
It usually heals in 7-10 days & will continue to fade over the next 2-4 weeks.
- Do not pick, scratch or remove scabs, this can lead to infection & permanent scarring.
- You can aid healing with medicated, anti-bacterial ointment.
- Avoid direct sunlight on the area. Apply SPF 50+ daily, ask about RESULTS PROTECT SPF 50+
There is a possibility of hair-loss in the treated area
Do not book laser or laser hair removal on the treated area for at least 7 days after treatment.
If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, infection or any other issue with the treated skin, contact your clinic. In some cases, we may advise you to contact your GP.

You may feel a short burst of heat as the light permeates the skin. Some people describe the sensation as a tingling or a slight pinching sensation.
For maximum results, we recommend 4 to 6 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart. Most importantly, there is minimal downtime after a IPL photo rejuvenation, so you can bounce straight back into your routine without missing a beat! You may need to do a follow up IPL treatment within 6 to 12 months for skin maintenance.
The main side effects are mild, temporary swelling and redness. Crusting and bruising may also occur like a sunburn blistering. Our clinical therapists will guide you through how to nurture your skin post treatment.
