Aftercare
You may notice slight swelling, scratching or needle bruising. This will reduce over the next 24–48 hours. Redness may last up to 72 hours.
Until all redness has gone, avoid:
- Using AHA, BHA or Vitamin A products.
- Waxing the area.
- Swimming pools & spas with chemicals/chlorine.
- Activities that cause excessive perspiration.
- Use only tepid water to wash your face.
- Apply a cooling gel, ask about RESULTS RECOVERY GEL.
- Do not apply makeup for 24 hours after treatment.
- Ensure that your make-up brushes have been thoroughly cleaned.
- In the rare case of infection, antibiotics are recommended & can be prescribed by your GP.
This is a normal side effect of the treatment.
- A light moisturiser should soothe dryness.
- Protect your skin, apply SPF 50+ daily, ask about RESULTS PROTECT SPF 50+
LED Advanced Light Therapy immediately after treatment can help & enhance results.
Do NOT book laser or laser hair removal treatments on any part of your face for at least 7 days after treatment.
If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, infection or any other issue with the treated skin, contact your clinic. In some cases we may advise you to contact your GP.

The majority of people are suitable for skin needling treatments. We recommend booking a complimentary consultation to discuss your skin and ensure this treatment is right for you. We do not usually recommend the treatment for clients with active acne, however, this can be discussed further during your consultation.
Be wary of products sold on the internet claiming to give you results that realistically only medical-grade equipment can give you! The main difference is the size and depth of the needle. At-home kits are much smaller; therefore, the needle won’t penetrate the dermis correctly. There is also potential to cause damage to the skin if a roller is not used correctly.
No. It is virtually painless! Numbing cream is applied on the skin’s surface to make the experience as pleasant as possible. The sensation can be described as a fast, light vibration with slight flicks to the skin as the pen moves over the area.
For most clients, redness and inflammation will gradually minimise within hours after the treatment. Your skin should return to normal within 12–24 hours. Our therapists will guide you on post-treatment care. It’s important that an LED Light Therapy session immediately follows the needling treatment to accelerate healing and enhance results.
Not everyone will bleed—it depends on how your skin responds to the needles. Our therapists will only take the needle as far as your skin can handle. Bleeding does not mean better results.
Your skin may appear slightly scratched and swollen within the first 24 hours; pinprick bruising may also occur but will gradually subside over 24–48 hours. It’s very normal for your skin to break out after the treatment as toxins are expelled from beneath the surface.
A free consultation with one of our clinical therapists will give you a better understanding of your suitability for the treatment. More often than not, if you have indented scarring, uneven skin surface or enlarged pores – you are the perfect candidate. We do not usually recommend this treatment for clients with active acne; however, this can be discussed further during your consultation.
