Microdermabrasion is a non invasive treatment using the MediPro diamond tipped wand that gently buffs and exfoliates dead skin cells, also targeting dull, dehydrated skin, ageing skin, congestion, black heads and uneven skin texture. Exfoliation is an important part of skin health as it deeply cleanses and promotes blood circulation, achieving a natural radiant glow.

Aftercare
Be gentle with your skin for 24 hours after treatment.
- Wash face with cold or tepid water for the first day
- Avoid harsh products, exfoliating creams & aggressive scrubbing as this may cause irritation.
- Use only mineral based makeup for 48hrs after treatment. Ask about our VELVET CO. mineral makeup.
- Do not book laser or hair removal treatments on any part of your face for 7 days after treatment.
This will subside within 24-48 hours (in some cases up to 72 hours).
Avoid:
Using AHA, BHA or Vitamin A products.
- Strongly scented lotions & soaps.
- Swimming pools & spas with chemicals/chlorine.
- Activities that cause excessive perspiration.
This will take around a week to heal.
- Apply a cooling gel to the treated area, to soothe the skin, ask about RESULTS ACTIVE RECOVERY.
- Moisturising will help minimise this, ask about RESULTS ACTIVE MOIST.
- Apply SPF 50+ daily to sun-exposed areas between treatments. Ask about RESULTS PROTECT SPF 50+
LED Advanced Light Therapy immediately after treatment can help to heal & enhance results.
If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, infection or any other disturbance to the treated skin contact your clinic. In some cases, we may advise you to contact your GP.
The Edwards Homecare Kit for Microdermabrasion (Gel Cleanser or Cream Cleanser) has been created to help maintain, support treatments and help enhance results! The Kit includes:

Our clinical therapists will advise you if microdermabrasion can be added to another treatment such as Chemical Peels or Skin Needling. It often is the perfect complement to other treatments as it helps to cleanse and prepare the skin.
This treatment is virtually pain-free! Your skin may feel some sensitivity when treating the delicate skin around the eyes. Your skin will feel a little warm for the first day but it will subside.
Your skin will feel invigorated and may experience slight flaking, which is very normal a few days after your treatment. Minor breakouts are common but do not always occur, this is a sign your skin is removing toxins from beneath the surface. It’s important to continue sun protection and also avoid harsh scrubs or lotions for at least 3 days after.
Results are often immediate. Your skin will feel smooth and appear more youthful and toned. The following day, you will notice a significant difference when applying your makeup, and your skin will forever be wanting more!
