A Chemical Peel is a clinical technique that applies a safe chemical solution to the skin’s surface. The peel penetrates the skin’s layers and targets cells that contribute to concerns such as acne breakouts, traumatic pigmentation and collagen loss.
A range of peels can target different priorities. Each deeply exfoliates and promotes healthy collagen production, leaving skin with a radiant glow. Clinical therapists recommend the most suitable treatment during a complimentary consultation.

Aftercare
This will gradually subside over 24–48 hours but may last up to 72 hours.
- Apply a cold compress or ice packs for 10 minutes per hour to reduce heat in the skin.
- Apply a cooling gel to keep skin cool; ask about RESULTS RECOVERY GEL.
- Use only mineral-based makeup for 48 hours after treatment; ask about VELVET CO. mineral makeup.
- Using AHA, BHA or Vitamin A products.
- Waxing the area.
- Swimming pools and spas with chemicals or chlorine.
- Activities that cause excessive perspiration.
- Wash with cold or tepid water.
- Take lukewarm showers.
This will fade progressively over the next one to four weeks. Avoid direct sunlight and apply SPF 50+ daily; ask about RESULTS PROTECT SPF 50+.
Do not book laser or laser hair removal on any part of the face for at least seven days. LED Advanced Light Therapy immediately after treatment can help healing and enhance results. If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, infection or any other issue with treated skin, contact your clinic. In some cases you may be advised to contact your GP.

The majority of people are suitable for Chemical Peels. Treatments are available for a variety of skin types. A complimentary consultation is recommended to discuss your skin and ensure the right peel or another treatment is recommended.
The peels do not require take-home products to prepare the skin. Avoid sun exposure for two weeks before treatment, as well as AHA, BHA and Vitamin A products.
Chemical Peels are virtually pain-free. You may feel a hot sensation when the peel is applied, and your therapist will check how it feels. The peel is removed and cooled once it has penetrated the skin’s layers.
Unlike peels of the past, very minimal downtime is required. Skin may appear slightly red and flaky.
Only a few side effects are associated with Chemical Peel treatments. Redness, swelling and irritation normally subside within a few hours and there is no downtime. Therapists will guide you on post-peel skin care.
Because ultraviolet light can cause further skin damage, use sun protection to protect new skin during and after Chemical Peel treatments. A broad-spectrum SPF 50, such as Active Protect sunscreen, is recommended.
Results vary, but you will see a definite change in your skin once you complete the recommended treatment plan.
