This is a result of the injections & will disappear in a few days. Lips are more sensitive & swelling may last 2 weeks.
- Apply a cool compress or a covered icepack gently, for 10 minutes every hour.
- Avoid strenuous or sporting activities, which raise the blood pressure & can prolong recovery time.
- Avoid over exposure to UV or direct sunlight & intense heat such as solariums or saunas for 2 weeks.
- Stay upright for 4 hours & go about your normal daily routine.
- Do not rub or massage the treated areas unless directed to by a doctor.
- Paracetamol may help with pain relief.
- Consider a soothing, antiseptic cream such as Bepanthen – use a new tube.
- Sleep on your back, for the first few nights, to avoid pressure on the treated area.
- Sleeping with an extra pillow can lift the head & help reduce swelling.
- Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours, to avoid blood thinning & accidentally bumping the treated area.
- Do not use AHA, BHA, Retinols & Vitamin C Therapy for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid oil-based makeup for 24 hours. Ask about VELVET CO. mineral makeup.
- Avoid laser hair removal, laser skin treatments, chemical peels & microdermabrasion for 2 weeks after treatment.
- Wait at least 6 weeks before skin needling, non-surgical facelifts & fractional RF laser treatments.

The filler is composed of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a compound that naturally occurs in the body, and assists in skin hydration by attracting and holding water. It also combines with the skin matrix to provide skin structure and elasticity to your face, neck and decolletage, and produces the viscoelastic network for normal fibres to bind together. Since their discovery, Cosmetic Dermal Fillers have emerged as the leading dermal filling agent for soft tissue augmentation, owing to their superior cosmetic results.

Our Cosmetic team are highly qualified and experienced, who specialise in injectable rejuvenation. After an initial assessment and discussion, local anaesthetic is introduced to the area to be treated to minimise discomfort during the procedure. Once treated, the cosmetic medical therapist will massage the area to ensure even distribution of the product. The treatment usually takes 10 to 30 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated.
Treatments are suitable for all skin types and skin colours, and the procedure feels gentle and rejuvenating. There is minimal pain during treatment, with most people describing the sensation as mild discomfort. A small amount of anaesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to treatment for a more comfortable treatment procedure.
Immediately after your treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling to the treated areas. This will subside quickly and will usually disappear completely in less than 7 days.
