The internet is full of hair growth tips, tricks and brands spruiking their “miracle” products. The costly nature of hair growth treatments adds to the stress of wanting to make sure you are choosing a treatment that will actually deliver results. If, and when you decide to begin your hair regrowth journey, Results Laser Clinic will be here to help with our advanced hair loss treatment for men. Hair Regrowth Therapy harnesses the restorative power of our body’s natural nutrients to stimulate hair growth. What is Hair Regrowth Therapy? Glad you asked! This article will take you through everything you need to know, answering any questions you might have.
What causes hair loss in males?
Let’s start off with why men may need to look at Hair Regrowth Therapy. Hair loss can occur for a number of reasons – hereditary, hormonal, medical or otherwise. Hair loss can happen to anyone, however it has been found to be more prevalent in men. The majority of hair loss is caused by a genetic predisposition. This hereditary condition is known as androgenetic alopecia, commonly referred to as male-pattern baldness. A receding hairline may start to form, or balding from the crown of the head. High levels of stress can also contribute to hair loss for men.
What is Hair Regrowth Therapy?
As mentioned, Hair Regrowth Therapy harnesses the restorative power of our body’s natural nutrients. How does that work, exactly? Performed by our talented Cosmetic Nurses in clinic, a small amount of your blood is taken, exactly like having a routine blood test. Then, your blood is centrifuges to separate its components, isolating the bloods growth factors. Growth factors are responsible for tissue regeneration, collagen production, and boosting blood supply to the hair follicles. The enriched growth factors (we like to call this ‘liquid gold’) are injected back into the scalp, where hair loss and thinning is present. From there, several enzymes are released to stimulate and promote hair growth. In total, the procedure takes around 30 minutes to an hour to complete.
Hair Regrowth Therapy can help address; genetic hair loss, androgenetic alopecia, hair thinning, stress-related hair loss, stimulate newly transplanted follicles, and compliment an existing hair loss medication treatment plan
What are the benefits of Hair Regrowth Therapy?
Hair Regrowth Therapy has a host of benefits that enable hair to have the best chance at thickening, strengthening and growth. Firstly, the treatment stimulates collagen levels and increases blood supply to the hair follicles. As a result, the growth phase of your hair is triggered, slowing the rate of hair loss, increasing the thickness of the hair shaft and enabling hair to become thicker and fuller, and controls the cycle of hair growth. Hair Regrowth Therapy promotes a healthy scalp and healthy hair growth, and it has a minimal risk of infection or allergy.
Is Hair Regrowth Therapy permanent?
At Results Laser Clinic, we recommend following a treatment plan set out by your Cosmetic Nurse, in order to achieve the best results. Treatment intervals are 2-4 weeks apart. Once the recommended course of treatments is complete, the effects are long-lasting, however not permanent. Additional top-up treatments may be required
Is Hair Regrowth Therapy Safe?
Yes! Hair Regrowth Therapy uses your own blood and nutrients, which makes it one of the safest, and most natural treatments available. The nature of this treatment means that there is no risk of infection or allergy, and its 20 year history of being performed in the hospital system and in sports medicine have effectively shown its powerful regenerative properties.
Is Hair Regrowth Therapy Painful?
The injections performed during our Hair regrowth Therapy treatment may bring mild discomfort, however, numbing cream can be applied to the scalp to assist with any pain. As for side effects, Hair Regrowth treatments are generally well tolerated. The most common side effects include local irritation or redness and mild to moderate swelling. Usually, this will settle within 24-48 hours. At Results Laser Clinic, we always recommend adding LED Light Therapy immediately before of after your Hair Regrowth Therapy treatment, as it can help minimise swelling and bruising, and further enhance your results!
How to look after your skin post-treatment
After your treatment, it is important to follow aftercare guidelines to ensure the best recovery and results.
- Until redness has resolved, avoid using products containing AHA or Vitamin A products and strongly scented lotions and soaps. Avoid excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers and excessive amounts of alcohol.
- Avoid washing your hair and using a hair dryer for 24 hours post-treatment, and avoid wearing hats where possible to avoid infection.
- To help reduce swelling, we recommend sleeping with an extra pillow to keep the head elevated slightly.
- To maintain the stimulation of hair growth factors, it’s important to keep the treated areas at a regular body temperature. Try and have lukewarm showers so the treated area is not too hot or too cold.
