This natural treatment goes beneath the surface, to restore skin from within! Some people call PRP treatments a natural filler, but it does more than add volume to the skin. It repairs it. PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. This is a component of our own blood that is rich in white blood cells and growth factors. PRP can help regenerate and revitalise damaged tissue, ultimately improving the texture of the skin around the eye.
It can help address the following skin concerns around the eye;
- Hollowing under the eye
- Sagging or crepey skin
- Dark circles
- Puffiness or swelling
- Discolouration or pigmentation
How It Works
A sample of your blood is taken in-clinic, and spun in a special centrifuge for less than 10 minutes to separate it’s components. The enriched PRP is then injected into the skin around the eye, releasing several enzymes that promote healing and tissue responses. Attracting stem cells and growth factors.
These Growth factors are responsible for wound healing, tissue regeneration, collagen production, and vascular regrowth. Resulting in regeneration of natural collagen & elastin, resurfacing the skin around the eyes texture and improving overall discolouration, sagging skin, wrinkles and fine lines.
Our PRP Skin Rejuvenation treatment differs from other PRP treatments as it incorporates the healing properties of LED Light Therapy.
Benefits
- Uses own body’s natural nutrients which is less likely to cause reactions (No risk of infection or allergy)
- Regenerates the production of collagen & elastin
- Improves skin’s texture, discolouration and age spots
- Reduces dark circles and puffiness around the eye
- Improves hollowness under the eye
- Minimises visible signs of ageing
Aftercare
Your skin will feel warm and appear pink. Minor bleeding, swelling and bruising are common reactions to the treatment. These will reduce over the next 24-48 hours.
Until redness has resolved avoid the use of AHA or Vitamin A products, strongly scented lotions & soaps, shaving, waxing or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers and excessive amounts of alcohol.
To maintain the stimulation of growth factors in the PRP, it’s important to keep the treated areas at a regular body temperature. This includes taking lukewarm showers so the area is not too cold or not too hot.
Sleep on your back to avoid rubbing the skin. Sleeping with an extra pillow can also lift the head and help reduce swelling.
Over the coming days you may notice your skin becoming tight, dry, and tender.
For face treatments, gently massage the area with Arnica cream to help minimise swelling and bruising.
Avoid touching your face or the treatment area as this can lead to infection.
Do not book laser, skin or other cosmetic injectable treatments on any part of your face for at least 2 weeks after treatment.
Wait 2 weeks for Anti Wrinkle injections, and 4 weeks for Dermal Fillers.
For hair regeneration clients, avoid washing hair and using a hair dryer for 24 hours post treatment and avoid wearing hats. If you must wear a hat ensure it is new or clean to avoid infection.
LED Light Therapy immediately before or after treatment can help minimise the swelling and bruising as well as enhance your results!
Only use Velvet Co Mineral Makeup or other mineral based makeup after treatment.
If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, infection or any other disturbance to the treated skin contact your clinic. In rare cases of infection we recommend you contact your GP.
